Internacional Film Festival New Horizons (what’s cinema fan life really is)

So as is this my third time here on the Wrocław’s New Horizons I think I have enough experience to talk about cinema fan life during the festival.

If you kind of peace holiday fan you shouldn’t go to one of the movies festivals. There is no such thing as well steeped night or peace morning here.

The first doesn’t exist because there is party every day in the festival’s club Arsenał or just because you have to wake up early to book some great movies for yourself, for the next day.

And it is also way you won’t have peaceful morning during festival.

If you like eat your meal slowly to feel its every flavor you shouldn’t go here, too. Because maybe your break during movies will be long, but you still have to be careful with time.

Once I thought „Oh I still have 30 minutes” but when I entered the room, almost every seat was taken. So you really should be careful with time here.

But is is over with warnings. Now let’s go to the fan part.

If you like cinema you should definitely be here in Wrocław. This is not just a festival, this is actually a movie adventure.

If you like meeting people, there is so many opportunities to do this here: for example before screening, when you’re sitting next to strangers or during your breaks.

If you like movies that encourage you to think or ask you some questions, this is place for you. Of course not every movie will be excellent, but I promise that you wil find here movies as good as last year „Sieranevada” or „Aquarius”.

But only about movies will be later.

If you like traveling, you must be here, because there is something that I call „movie traveling”. You can actually travel when you are sitting in comfortable armchair. Only so far, this year I’ve been 2 times in Africa and in Paris.

It’s amazing feeling because movie can take us to the places that we would never be without the help of the film makers.

With eating and sleeping is not that terrible if you only will schedule your day properly. I cannot mention that there is a terrific bar and cafeteria in the New Horizons Cinema as well as its neighborhood.

What you have to do when you participate in the festival:

1. Always have water with you, in case that the break would be to short to buy one

2. Take part in at least one meeting with the film makers after the screening

3. Always have extra money for some extra coffee with you (you don’t know the day nor the hour)

4. Watch at least one official selection movie and give your vote

5. Share your thoughts in the Hyde Park (wall of thoughts in other words)

The best way to find out whether this festival is so great, is to take part in. Maybe not this year, but next definitely.
